Next week, the notorious Paris Fashion Week is hitting the hottest venues in the capital for its 2019 edition.
This Paris Fashion Week is particularly exciting for us because our Made en France team will be attending!
Before we get too excited, it is important to ask, “What is Paris Fashion Week?”
“Semaine de la mode de Paris” (the French meaning of Paris Fashion Week) is a series of designer shows held twice a year in Paris. The shows are known for taking place in different trendy and iconic French venues such as the Grand Palais and the Musée Rodin. During these shows the designer’s Spring/Summer and Autumn/Winter collections are always shown.
This year’s edition will start with the Men Fall Winter 2019/20 on Tuesday, January 15th until Sunday, January 20th. As always, the biggest fashion names will be present with lots of new surprises and cutting edge trends. According to Givenchy, this year, runways will be featuring a distinctively masculine look, a major shift away from last year’s unisex runway trend.

If you are a true fashion lover and are eager to see the catwalks but have no invitation, don’t worry! Below is a list of possible ways for you to catch a show.
- Volunteer! You can reach out to the Federation at federation@fhcm.paris and offer your help throughout the shows.
- Directly contact the press department of the designer you wish to see. They just might issue you a pass to the show if you are lucky.
- Dress up and go to the venue where the catwalk is held. If you are patient and have an outstanding look, you have a great chance of being let to view the show from the standing far rows.
In the meantime, make sure you check back to our blog as we will be regularly adding fresh news in the upcoming weeks from Paris Fashion Week 2019!
